On a recent visit to WalMart, and a separate visit to Staples, two different scenarios played out that I wanted to share with you. Now, these are not "big deals" by any means, rather, they are funny incidents that happen once in a while that we never really think twice about.
Scenario # 1:
I was in WalMart. My objective was to simply get a teething toy for my son because he has been cutting teeth lately and needed something to gnaw on. Coming toward me was a woman and her child that my brain immediately recognized. I started to ransack my mind for where I knew this person coming toward me from and as I was doing this I was staring really intently at her. I couldn't put a name to the face. As she passed me she made eye contact with me. I must have freaked her out a little because she saw me staring and gave me a weird look that said "What are you looking at you strange man?" I did not intend to offend her. I just didn't remember that I went to high school with her until I got back to the car!
Scenario # 2:
I was walking into Staples. I was in a hurry so I wanted to get in and get out quickly. There was a woman up ahead in my path to an efficient store visit. As she got closer I politely moved to the side altering my path a little. At that exact moment she moved over and placed herself diretly in the middle of my path again. As we got closer to eachother, we did this about 4 times until finally I just stood still off to the side and allowed her to go by. I really wanted to tell her to get the f*&k out of the way because I was in a particularly bad mood that day. But, I refrained and went on my way.
