My Uncle Ralph left a comment on my last blog:
"Nancy Pelosi? The $25 billion the auto industry already got is tied up with the stipulation of creating 'green' vehicles. While this appears admirable to some (not me) on the surface, it actually limits the industries ability to use that money the way they need to, therefore, they are back for more. This money will not get paid back and it will only delay the inevitable. The jobs won't be all lost. Someone or ome company will buyout the failed company and use is workforce and assets. It happens all the time. This is simply the union strongarming the government under the guise as being for the public good. Supply and demand will create the revolution of greener vehicles, government mandates won't."
My response:
I don't want you to think that I have made up my mind on the issue. The writing is on the proverbial wall and I think that we are not on opposite sides in this debate. The fact of the matter is, I see that the bailout is probably not going to fix anything no matter how many mandates they place on the auto industries. You actually made me think of the whole situation a little differently and gave me a little more hope. You're right about other companies buying them out and preserving jobs and that is something that I hadn't thought of before. Remember Uncle Ralph, I do disagree with the liberal/democratic point of view sometimes. I don't blindly follow them and cast away any other points of view. This debate is more based in logic than political stance.

Same things happen to every generation but one thing you didn't address is how the trendy people were only trendy cuz mommy & daddy had money. I got a kick out of all the trendy kids I went to school with all of a sudden at the 10 year reunion ain't shit cuz they were out on their own spending their own money. Now they wanted to talk to me when they didn't know me in school cuz I wasn't trendy. I am much happier now that I wasn't trendy all though that isn't how I felt back then. Your cousin had a teal gmc
S10 pickup........... his pimp mobile.....he got it on that night you are talking about. Quick question about the recycling (u know me) does the recycling offset the pollution you are dumping into the atmosphere driving to the recycling station? Better buy some carbon offsets.... LOL!
