Today begins the second leg of our journey over the treacherous roads through the Adirondacks. Our visit to Russell has been spent mostly huddled around a heater inside, drinking hot chocolate, and watching Dora the Explorer's Christmas Special (at my toddler's request) ad nauseum. I experienced 15-20 below zero for the first time in 5 years. I have seen more snow in the last couple of days than I have seen in a very long time. I am bummed because I couldn't take my son out to play in it because of the temperature, but he still liked looking at it. I checked the Weather Channel's site for the weather in VA. It said that when we return on Saturday, it is supposed to be 60 degrees. That is going to feel like a sauna! I have to go pack the car up now. Wish me luck!
