Here is a quick update...
We left Virginia after school on Friday. This has been a hellish trip so far. After five hours on the road, we were barely out of Maryland. We thought that leaving at 2:00 in afternoon would put us ahead of the holiday rush, we were oh so wrong. We reached our first stop at the Hampton Inn in Harrisburg, PA at about 7:30 pm and it was certainly some welcome relief. Sidenote: if you don't have $500 to spend on one night at a hotel (like I don't), I highly suggest a Hampton Inn. They are certainly the best of the lower end chains. Take it from me, I have stayed in some really shitty hotels over the years. Their continental breakfast is fantastic. So, we left early on Saturday morning to complete the remaining 6 hours of our journey. Interstate 81 was clear sailing and the weather was good. When we got north of Syracuse, we started to see more and more snow. I missed our exit off 81 and we had to take a couple of back roads where we almost wrecked a couple of times on the icy roads. Russell is very cold, so we are hanging out next to the heater at my parents' house. I hope to play a few good card games if I can get my fingers to thaw before we leave on Tuesday...
